Delicious typical recipes from the Aran Valley

Our roots

The best way to recover from a day of adventure, hiking or skiing is to sit down and enjoy some of the exquisite dishes that Aranese cuisine offers us. Famous are stews such as stews and stews, as well as Aranese pot, based on local products from the area. Other home-made products such as pâtés, wild boar civet or desserts reflect the influence of their border situation with France, although they retain their own valley personality.

And to have fun and learn about the traditions of the area, participating in the many celebrations that take place throughout the year is the best way.

Traditional dances passed on from generation to generation over the years such as "Es Esclops", "Es Aubades" and "Eth Puntet", romerias in honor of saints and festivals related to the countryside and animals have been preserved intact being today an exceptional legacy on the life of our ancestors in the high mountains of the Pyrenees.
